Laurent Ponsot - Montrachet Grand Cru - Cuvee des Orchidees

DESCRIPTION / TASTING NOTE

Ponsot purchases must for his white wine production and does the fermentations himself in used casks, without further additions, and the wine is matured without racking until it is bottled. It is rare to have Montrachet with this degree of purity to the fruit, with intense notes of white peach and green apple, suffused with hints of mineral and fresh white flowers. The texture is very fresh but not lacking in concentration or body, and the length is impressive. Drinking Window 2024 - 2039. (CC)

ABOUT PRODUCER

After 36 years at Domaine Ponsot, Laurent Ponsot left the family domaine in February of 2017 to pursue a new wine adventure. He is joined in this new endeavor by his son, Clément, whose excitement for winemaking is as strong as his own. Embodying his pioneering spirit, the company is named after Laurent himself who values humility, respects nature, and enjoys above all else the great pleasure of winemaking.
