DESCRIPTION / TASTING NOTE
Cherry-red in colour, tinged with ruby, with its generous bouquet, Château Tourtirac is juicy and voluptuous. On the palate, extremely ripe fruit, followed by silky, integrated tannins define the wine, which is similar in style to Saint-Emilion. A supple, well-balanced wine.
ABOUT PRODUCER
In the hills of Gardegan-et-Tourtirac, the Château’s impressive architectural splendour takes us on a journey through time, commencing in 1607 with an interior courtyard and trompe-l’oeil features, and completed in 1865 with a majestic round tower. Tourtirac’s Town Hall was once located in the Château’s reception hall, before becoming part of Gardegan, the neighbouring village. Tourtirac is much more than just a wine; it refers to a place, a history, and an imposing tower, the standard bearer of the property. In the region, there is no equivalent; its uniqueness makes it all the more sought-after. The soils are conducive to producing prestigious wines, with its proximity to Saint-Emilion and the same limestone rock. The similarities in terms of both geography and geology are reflected in the style of its wines, focusing on fruit, elegance and suppleness.
