Mia red highlights the characteristics of Spain’s quintessential grape variety –Tempranillo. Gloria, the winemaker, wanted to allow the pureness of the grape to shine through, so the wine isn’t barreled in oak.
ABOUT PRODUCER
Over 150 years ago, in the small Catalan town of Sant Sarduní d´Anoia the Sala and Ferrer families were well-known winemakers of quality wines. At the beginning of the 20th century the families were joined by the marriage of Dolores Sala and Pedro Ferrer Bosh. The young couple formed an unrivalled team, Dolores ahead of her time in detailed winemaking knowledge and Pedro, a bright young entrepreneur. Together they succeeded in gaining popularity and reputation for their wines and their hard work and determination was the start of Freixenet as we know it today, the largest producer of traditional method sparkling wine worldwide.
